Pick up from your hotel, cottage, and villa from 0600hrs depending on your location and drive to Wasini Island along Mombasa – Lunga lunga highway.

Wasini Island lies in southeast Kenya 3 kilometres off the coast of the Indian Ocean, 75 kilometres south of Mombasa, and 3 kilometres opposite the harbor of the village Shimoni. It is approximately 7 kilometres long and 3 kilometres across.

On arrival at Shimoni jet, you will be directed to the harbor where you will board an Arabic dhow and sail for 1 hour searching for dolphins. Sail to Kisite Marine National park where you will do snorkeling and swimming.

Kisite marine national park is the second most famous marine park in the world after the Australian marine park. It covers an area of 32km2. Animals seen here include turtles, marine tortoise, coral reef and different types of marine fishes.

You will have lunch at the Wasini Island which is mostly sea food and Swahili dishes. (If you don’t take sea food other meals can be arranged for you).

After lunch, you will head for village tour and visit the coral gardens in Wasini Island. You will be able to learn about the Swahili people and the Arabs history.

Also there is an option of visiting the Shimoni Slave caves. This is where the slaves where “Stored” before being shipped to Arabia in the 16th century. In the 10th century, Arabs were slave traders; during this period they intermarried with the Bantus in the coastal regions to form the Swahili people. After the end of slave trade in the 17th century many Africans settled here, so don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the Swahili people!

Arrive at the Shimoni jet at 1600hrs thereafter drives back to your hotel/apartments.
